We have an excellent opportunity for a JAVA/ATG Web Developer. This position is located at our National Center in Dallas, TX.

The Java/ATG and Websphere Developer is responsible for providing web technology leadership in analyzing, designing, and developing applications within the American Heart Association's primary ATG/Websphere Java Web environment. This is a senior level development position with responsibilities that include mentoring other development staff technically as well as resolving development issues escalated from more junior staff.

Other primary responsibilities include analyzing, developing, and supporting Internet, Intranet and Extranet based solutions that support the association's overarching strategies to reduce death and disability due to coronary disease and stroke. This position utilizes knowledge of and skills associated with Java technologies, Oracle databases, and industry standard development methods, should be able to work with minimal supervision as a member of the Web Development team.

Additional Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Design and develop applications using Java/ATG/Websphere development tools
  • Acts as a senior developer and takes complete ownership of the task assigned, should be able to lead the technical design sessions independently
  • Provides senior-level coding, debugging, testing, and technical support for existing Web properties
  • Designs and documents system specifications, performs proof of concepts
  • Performs independent analysis of the requirements and come up with a level of effort based on the requirements. Perform the work breakdown structure and come up with a compelete development paln

Required Experience

Qualified candidates will have the following experience and background:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with ATG, Oracle & J2EE
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with HTML & Websphere
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with Oracle UCM Integration, Front end development liabraries (AJAX, JQuery) & Build / Deployment process
  • Knowledge and/or ability to quickly learn the scope of AHA, its programs and services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
  • Effective working independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask; good prioritization, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with a variety of personalities
  • A strong ability for multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
  • Proven team player along with proven customer management skills
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with all levels of management and across functional and business units
